Garrett is a graduate from University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture and an Associate of Applied Science in Ornamental Horticulture and Turfgrass Management.
What do you love?
I enjoy working with our customers and their clients to help make each vision come to life. I take great pride in supplying our customers with the best quality products that they can use to do their best work and make their clients’ dream come true. Driving by or seeing photos of the finished projects gives me a feeling of great pride and accomplishment in knowing I was able to enhance our community and strengthen our relationship with our partners.
Why you came to Weston Nurseries?
I decided to come to Weston Nurseries- Wholesale because I believed in the vision they shared for the companies’ future. They have given me a chance to utilize my full industry knowledge and to make a difference in how we interact with our clients and what products we sell. Every day is a new adventure here at Weston. I learn something new every day from our customers, staff and vendors.
What you want to accomplish at Weston Nurseries- Wholesale?
I would like to attain the MCH, ICPI, and MCLP certifications in order to be able to work to my fullest potential and to be able to give my colleagues, customers and the industry the best of myself. It is important to me to enhance Weston Nurseries’ reputation for excellence by building my own reputation for integrity, kindness, knowledge and flexibility.
What is your favorite thing about the landscaping business?
You can truly let your imagination run wild when you plan what you would like for your landscape. This is accomplished by designing projects that offer a variety of height, color and texture with a balance between the soft and hardscape within the landscape along with natural and manufactured products, the possibilities are endless. Imports from around the world or stone locally sourced allows each to create a truly unique landscape that is one of a kind right in one’s own yard.
What are you looking forward to this year?
I have been working with our vendors to develop a program we are calling “Lunch and Learn.” They are one to two hour classes that are being held during the winter months starting next Wednesday, February 12 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. We want to offer our customers and their staffers the chance to develop their industry knowledge and deepen their knowledge of the built landscape. Next week’s class for example is Techo-Bloc and Alliance. They will be talking about new products for 2020 and giving a lot of detail about quality, innovation and warranty at Techo-Bloc, as well as Gator Base and the hybrid installations that will be possible with this new product.
