Lauren Schmitt, MCH, Weston Nurseries’ Database Administrator and one of the many horticulturists on our staff joined Weston Nurseries in 2020. She is a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist, and is currently pursuing her degree in Native Plant Studies.  She graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science and Plant & Soil Science.

Lauren specializes in indoor growing, hydroponics and sustainable gardening.  She especially loves growing a variety of healthy food to eat- including culinary mushrooms.  In addition to having a seasonal vegetable garden outdoors, she loves growing microgreens, lettuces and herbs indoors all year round.

As a mother of two, much of Lauren’s time outside the nursery is spent with her favorite helpers!  From screening compost to cloning blueberries, these guys have done it all.  This time of year is especially fun for kids to get outside and enjoy nature waking up again.

Scroll down for some Springtime garden inspiration- and have a Happy Mother’s Day!
